Mammogram screening - June 2019

1st routine appointment - 19th June 2019

I was called for a routine screening. Age almost 49 ;-) I had no typical symptoms. Although looking back I have always been paranoid about my boobs. Always feeling for lumps and bumps.

“I remember feeling scared, but almost in denial. I had no symptoms, so I'd be fine”

I went along to the mobile breast screening unit in Bournemouth for my first routine mammogram. It was pouring with rain and my husbands birthday! I almost felt I was just going through the motions. I was fine. I wouldn't have cancer! I remember going in to the mobile unit. All very formal, "top off please madam, come through here etc etc". At no point did I ever think anything would come from it. I left, went back to work and then we celebrated his birthday!
