Meeting with Mr Skene at Nuffield Hospital, Bournemouth. Having already met him, it was quite a relaxed meeting. All the scary stuff had been spoken about with Chrissie, and I was now introduced to his private nurse Amanda. We talked through the option of me having the mastectomy, with immediate reconstruction in the way of a Becker breast expander being fitted and a small amount of saline to be filled in to it.

We spoke about the option of symmetry surgery later down the line and that I would like a silicone implant to my natural breast at the time of the expander exchange. Mr Skene was keen to reiterate that due to sagging of my natural breast, (age related) along with the implant, that this would also probably require an uplift too, but wanted to talk about those options at a later date. Today was purely about making me feel happy around the mastectomy side of things. This first part would take approx 4-5 hours, to remove the breast, breast tissue to avoid cancer reoccurrence and insert the Becker implant!

Appointment was booked for the 16th September as I really wanted to get a holiday in beforehand and it was already booked. It was going to be a nice distraction leading up to the day.
